BlueMotion technology - BlueMotion Economy Drive

BlueMotion

BlueMotion Economi Drive-branded Vw models have achieved engine efficiency with a modified control unit, the car has modified aerodynamics and less rolling resistance. The car is equipped with a modified soot particle filter. Compared to classic versions, the weight of the car is reduced. All these modifications have led to a reduction in fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions. As the first BlueMotion car in 2006 was introduced Volkswagen Polo Blue Motion, the drive was a three-cylinder 1.4 TDI DPF with 59 kw of power. The CO2 emission value for this vehicle has crossed the magic threshold and is only 99 g CO2 / km. The low CO2 emissions of the Volkswagen Polo were also surpassed by the Toyota Prius hybrid (104 g CO2 / km).

2009 at the Geneva Motor Show new generation BlueMotion. The first car equipped with the new generation Polo BlueMotion II that consumes 3,3 liters of diesel per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 87 grams per km. Blue Motion2 gets new technical systems. Start - Stop system and kinetic energy recovery system.

BlueMotion

BlueMotion technology encompasses all products, core technologies and innovations that significantly improve fuel economy and reduce exhaust emissions. These basic technologies are the foundations of BlueMotion. Currently, they cover TDI and TSI engines as well as being extremely efficient DSG gearbox. They are complemented by technological innovations that include drive variants such as Ecofuel (natural gas engines), Bifuel (liquefied natural gas engines), MultiFuel (ethanol engines), hybrid systems and electric drive, as well as NOx emission control, regenerative braking and Stop - Start system. These basic technologies and innovations are included in the growing range of models.
