Renault Laguna 2007-2015 problems and breakdowns

Renault Laguna - ALL MODELS
PROBLEM - The steering wheel works unevenly and vibrates in curves or when parking. Crunching from the front suspension.
CAUSE - Excessive friction on the upper rear shock mount bearing.
REPAIR - Check the operation of the rear shock absorber upper bracket bearing. Replace the rear shock absorber upper bearing mount.

PROBLEM - Periodic startup error. The engine shuts down occasionally.
CAUSE - Faulty crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.
REPAIR - Replace the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.
Renault Laguna - ALL MODELS WITH K4J / K4M / K7J / K7M / K9K ENGINES
PROBLEM - Alternator control lamp on. Noise from the engine. Loud noise from the auxiliary drive belt.
CAUSE - Faulty alternator pulley.
REPAIR - Check the alternator pulley for damage and replace if necessary. Check the alternator for damage and replace if necessary.
Renault Laguna 1.5 dCi / 1.9 dCi (K9K / F9Q)
PROBLEM - It is not possible to start after replacing the timing belt. Valve phase adjustment incorrect after timing belt replacement.
CAUSE - Incorrect valve phase adjustment due to camshaft pulley error.
REPAIR - Remove the camshaft pulley and check for damage. Replace if necessary.
Renault Laguna - MODELS WITH CODES M9R 700 / M9R 721 / M9R 722 / M9R 724 / M9R 740
PROBLEM - Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates.
CAUSE - Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve blocked in open / closed position. Engine Computer Software (ECM) Error.
REPAIR - Test components, electronics and mechanics (as needed) to eliminate other possible causes. Replace the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. If no error is found: Reprogram the engine computer (ECM) with the upgraded software.
Renault Laguna - MODELS WITH CODE F9Q
PROBLEM - Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates. The engine loses power. Too much exhaust fumes. Improper engine sound. The engine shuts down and starts hard again.
CAUSE - Internal turbocharger (TC) fault.
REPAIR - Inspect and replace the turbocharger (TC) if necessary. Check the intake system for damage. Replace components if necessary. Inspect the engine for internal damage. Replace / repair parts as needed.
