Renault Clio - The most common problems and malfunctions

Renault Clio - ALL GASOLINE 
PROBLEM - Loss of engine power, engine failure.
CAUSE - The valve does not open or close properly due to accumulated deposits in the valve body.
REPAIR - Remove the valve body and clean the deposits on the inside of the valve.

Renault Clio - ALL GASOLINE 
PROBLEM - Illuminates to indicate engine failure, loss of engine power, poor engine performance.
CAUSE - Engine computer software error.
REPAIR - Reprogram the engine computer with upgraded software.

Reno Clio - ALL GASOLINES 
PROBLEM - Alternator control indicator illuminates, engine noise, loud noise from the auxiliary drive belt.
CAUSE - Faulty alternator pulley.
REPAIR - Check alternator pulley for damage, replace if necessary. Check the alternator for damage. Replace if necessary.

Renault Clio 1.4 16V  
PROBLEM - The engine starts hard, loses power and shuts down, does not work properly at idle.
CAUSE - Engine computer software error.
REPAIR - Reprogram the engine computer with upgraded software.

Renault Clio 1.5 dCi 
PROBLEM - Startup error.
CAUSE - Water enters the fuse box / relay plate in the engine compartment. Corrosion.
REPAIR - Place a protective cover (160 mm) and tape (130 mm) on the electrical installation assembly of the fuse box / relay board in the engine compartment. Check the condition of the fuse box / relay plate and replace if necessary. Check engine control relay and replace if necessary. Apply adhesive tape to the edge of the fuse box in the motor / relay panel cover area.

Renault Clio 1.5 dCi I 1.9 dCi 
PROBLEM - It is not possible to start after replacing the timing belt.
CAUSE - Valve phase incorrectly adjusted after timing belt replacement, valve phase incorrectly adjusted due to camshaft pulley error.
REPAIR - Remove the camshaft pulley and check for damage, replace parts if necessary.

Renault Clio 1.5 dCi I 1.9 dCi 
PROBLEM - Periodic startup error. The engine sometimes shuts down.
CAUSE - Faulty crankshaft position sensor.
REPAIR - Replace the crankshaft position sensor.

Renault Clio - ALL MODELS WITH MANUAL GEARBOX 
PROBLEM - Transmission oil leaking, difficult to change gears.
CAUSE - Damaged sealing mechanism seal.
REPAIR - Replace the voter seal.
