PROBLEM - Knocking from the steering wheel when turning the steering wheel.
CAUSE - Dry contact surfaces on the lower joint of the steering column with a grooved joint.
REPAIR - To confirm the cause: mark the alignment on the lower steering column joint with the steering rack. Remove the lower steering column joint from the steering rack. Slide the lower steering column joint in and out 10 times. Make sure the reference marks are aligned. Install the lower steering column hinge. Test drive. If noise is no longer heard: Fit the modified lower link of the steering column.

REPAIR - Check that all DPF pressure sensor vacuum hoses are installed correctly and leaking. Check the operation and condition of the DPF. Reprogram engine computer (ECM) with upgraded software.

CAUSE - Leak in high fuel pressure pump.
REPAIR - Check the date of manufacture at the high pressure fuel pump. If the production date is before 02/2010 (01M 02700), replace the high fuel pressure pump with a modified version.
