In 1991, the new generation Mercedes S class W140 was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. The design of the car is based on the traditional style of Mercedes-Benz. The first thing everyone noticed about the car was its length of 5113 mm. The Mercedes S-Class W140 comes with a V12 engine for the first time, ESP Electronic Vehicle Stability System and double glazing, so the wind noise during highway driving is minimal.

As for the offer of engines, it depended on the market itself. There were two diesel engines on offer: a turbo 3.5 engine with 150 hp, which was replaced in 1996 with a 3.0 engine. The petrol engines on offer are: 2.8 engine with 198 hp, 3.2 engine with 231 hp, 4.2 V8 engine with 279 hp, later with 286 hp, 5.0 V8 engine with 335 hp and 6.0 V12 engine with 400 hp, later with 408 hp.
