Volvo S60 - ALL MODELS
PROBLEM - Noise or knocking under the vehicle while driving.
CAUSE - Transmission of road noise through the front suspension springs. There is no insulation between the suspension spring and the bracket.
REPAIR - Remove the front suspension struts. Disassemble the suspension brackets and remove the springs. Install the upper and lower rubber mufflers. Assemble the suspension brackets and install them.
Volvo S60 2004 - 2007
PROBLEM - Noise and vibration from the engine compartment when turning at a lower speed.
CAUSE - Echo from the power steering return pipe.
REPAIR - Install the modified power steering return pipe.
Volvo S60 2004 - 2007
PROBLEM - Noise from the rear suspension on uneven surfaces or when driving over lying cops.
CAUSE - Vibration from the rear shock absorbers.
REPAIR - Install new shock absorbers.
Volvo S60 - MODELS WITH MECHANICAL FRONT SEATS
PROBLEM - Clicking from the front seat frame while driving.
CAUSE - Excessive travel in the seat height adjustment joint.
REPAIR - Remove the rivet at the seat height adjustment joint. Replace the rivet with a nut and screw.
Volvo S60 - MODELS WITH ELECTRIC FRONT SEATS
PROBLEM - Excessive travel in the seat height adjustment joint during stopping / starting.
CAUSE - Excessive travel in the seat height adjustment joint.
REPAIR - Install the gas shock absorber to the seat height adjustment joint.
Volvo S60 - MODELS WITH 4 × 4 DRIVE
PROBLEM - Radio interference on AM waves.
CAUSE - Signal interference from the four-wheel drive control module.
REPAIR - Install an additional ground wire to the four-wheel drive control module housing.
Volvo S60 2005
PROBLEM - Radio interference on AM waves.
CAUSE - Signal interference from the fuel pump.
REPAIR - Locate the fuel pump electrical wiring connector under the right side of the rear seat. Remove the 6-pin multi connector from the bracket. Disconnect the fuel pump multi-connector. Locate and remove the yellow wire from position 6 in the female half of the multi-connector. Install 150 mm insulation on electrical installations. Thread the yellow wire through the muffler ring 3 times. Install the yellow wire in the 6 hour position in the female half of the multi-connector. Insulate electrical installations with tape. Connect the fuel pump multi-connector.
Volvo S 60 - PETROL MODELS
PROBLEM - The engine loses power and crashes.
CAUSE - Valve phase adjustment solenoid (VVT) piston blocked due to dirt with metal shavings.
REPAIR - Remove the VVT assembly from the engine. Disassemble and thoroughly clean all components. Make sure all oil drains are cleaned. Check the operation of the solenoid valve by activating it with power. Assemble and set.
