Hyundai Coupe 2002 - 2008 - Used, advantages, disadvantages
Second generation Hyundai The coupe was presented in 2001 at the Motor Show in Frankfurt, and in 2002 it came on the market. Its sleek design, practical rear seats and decent boot size have made it look good today. The boot volume is 312 liters. The rear seats still lack space for knees and head, especially for more people.
The engine range is as follows: an initial 1,6 petrol engine with 103 hp which is a great choice for young drivers as it is economical. The most popular engine is the 2.0 petrol engine, which initially had 136 hp, but was upgraded in 2003 with a variable valve opening system and some power, resulting in lower CO2 emissions. It takes 0 seconds to accelerate from 100 to 9.3 km / h, which is two and a half seconds less than the 1.6 engine's acceleration. The most powerful engine is the 2.7 V6 engine with 162 hp, but unfortunately the performance of this engine is lower than expected.
The 1.6 and 2.0 engines come with a five-speed gearbox and the V6 engine with a six-speed gearbox. The V6 and 2.0 engines are also available with a four-speed automatic transmission, but that engine limits sporty driving. In 2008 a special series is on sale Hyundai TSIII coupe. It has a lowered Eibach sports suspension, heated leather sports seats, a larger boot lid spoiler, aluminum pedals and automatic climate control. It is powered by a 2.0 DOHC 141 hp petrol.
The controls and engines are not what you would expect from a Coupe sporty look. The steering does not provide enough feedback and lack precision, so driving is not too exciting. It is stable in bends thanks to its low center of gravity and rigid chassis. Electronic stability control only comes with a V6 engine.
Standard equipment on all models includes: front airbags for driver and front passenger, side airbags, ABS, power windows and electrically adjustable mirrors, front fog lights, radio, air conditioning, leather transmission and steering wheel. The 2.0 SE also includes sunroof, cruise control and leather seats, while the V6 model has 17-inch alloy wheels and traction control, which was upgraded in 2007 with electronic stability control.
