Ujedinjuje vrline krutog vešenja i nezavisnog Multilinka, dobro rešenje za zadnje vešanje automobila sa zadnjim pogonom, nekad su ga koristile Alfe, danas Smart i Twingo.
De Dion, napredna je verzija zadnjeg krutog vešanja, koja povezuje vrline krutog mosta i nezavisnog vešanja. Zadnji točkovi su povezani krutom vezom (mostom), ali su odvojeni od diferencijala, koji je učvršćen na karoseriju.
Pogonska se veza ostvaruje slično kao kod savremenih nezavisnih vešanja, posebnim vratilom i po dva homokinetička zgloba sa svake strane. Glavna mu je prednost što smanjuje neogibljene mase i rizik poskakivanja točka na neravnom asfaltu.
Usto se na normalnom putu ne menja ugao bočnog nagiba točkova, nezavisno o opterećenju, što je dobro za bočno vođenje.
Tako De Dion ujedinjuje prednosti krutog i nezavisnog vešanja. Najviše ga je koristio Alfa Romeo, a 60-ih i Opel, Maserati..
Danas se ugrađuje u Renault Twingo te Smart ForFour i ForTwo.
