The 3.0d N57 diesel engine made its debut 2008., the new word mark is justified, because the engine block is designed from the ground up, completely made of aluminum ( which suggests poor durability of the engine). Common rail injection works at a pressure of up to 2000 only. N57 engines are often combined with a 4×4. All N57 engines have a particle filter.

BMW N57 is an aluminum family , turbo straight – 6 common rail dizel motore. The engine uses variable geometry turbines and Bosch piezo injectors.

N57D30Ox has 1800 bar pressure , while the N57D30Tx has 2000 bar pressure. The N57D30Ox uses a single turbocharger, while the N57D30Tx uses 2 turbine, and N57S prey 3 turbines of different sizes.

Problems with the drive chain. Long intervals between oil changes seriously affect the condition of the chain.

The N57 engine is prone to the accumulation of soot in the intake ducts. In some cases , even on 70000 – 80000 km.
