Volvo S80 2nd gen. it launches in 2006 and is based on the EUCD platform, which is also used in the model Ford. The Swedes have combined classic and contemporary trends with the new S80, and the body is sleek but sporty. The interior design is classic, the material quality is high. Diesel engines are divided into four groups: 113 hp D2, 134 hp D3, 161 hp D4 and 212 hp D5. They are available with manual and automatic transmission. Entering the market, the S80 is available with a 2.4-liter diesel engine with 163 hp and a 2.4-liter diesel engine with 185 hp.
In 2007, the four-cylinder 2.0 D engine with 136 hp is also available.
Of the gasoline engines on offer are: 4.4-liter V8 engine with 315 hp, six-cylinder 3.2-liter engine with 238 hp, 2.5T engine with 200 hp, and in 2007 a 2.0-liter petrol engine with 145 hp was added.

The new road model is noticeably more agile, though the steering lacks feel. Driving comfort is enhanced by the Four-C's automatic chassis control system and DSTC's Dynamic Stability Control system. The Volvo S80 is one of the safest cars in its class. The first model is with ACS Driving Control (Spacing Maintenance) technology and a crash warning and braking support system.
