Volkswagen Tiguan 1st gen. experiences

Volkswagen Tiguan 1st gen. has been a product since 2007. It comes in a variant with four doors and two rows of seats. There are three levels of equipment available, "Trend & Fun", "Sport & Style" and "Track & Field", and the biggest difference between them is that the latter new equipment is most suitable for users who often use the car for "off-road" driving. Interior in Volkswagen Tiguan 1st gen. is more practical than pretentious, wrapped in ease of use. Considering the length of the vehicle (4.42m), there is enough space on the rear seats, and the reason for that is the thinner backrests of the front seats and the sliding rear bench with which the inclination of the backrest can be adjusted. The size of the trunk is 470 liters, which is in some class average.
Sitting behind the wheel is very comfortable and with very good adjustment. On the cockpit everything is simply stacked and at your fingertips.

All-wheel drive "4motion" is excellent and works smartly in favor of safety and the amount of traction. VW decided not to allow the driver to influence the operation of the drive, but with the Halex clutch they ensured a good distribution of torque between the axles. When conditions are optimal, the Volkswagen Tiguan 1st gen. it functions as an agile front-wheel drive with about 10 percent torque on the rear wheels, and if needed, it will send up to 98 percent power to the rear.

In 2011, a facelift was made and the Tiguan received a new enlarged front grille with four chrome slats and slanted front LED lights. Both comfort and technology have been improved. The interior was not much changed, it was enriched with a new choice of materials and additional decorative elements. Equipment packages are also refreshed, so depending on the level of equipment, the Tiguan also offers a driver fatigue recognition system, a new navigation system, Lane Assist lane restraint support, and a Park Assist system for automatic vehicle parking, applicable for lateral and longitudinal parking spaces .
For an extra charge, you can get a panoramic sunroof with an electric opening and adjustable suspension with three settings (Comfort, Normal and Sport), which dramatically changes the hardness of the shock absorber, power steering resistance and throttle response.

Of the petrol models, 1.4TSIs of 120 and 148hp and 2.0 TSIs of 168 and 198hp are available.
Consumption in mixed driving ranges from 8.4 - 9.9L / 100km.

Of the diesel models are available 2.0L TDI power of 108, 138 and 168 hp.
Consumption in mixed driving ranges from 5.5 - 7.2L / 100km.

For models with a diesel engine, especially for 2.0 TDI flowmeter problems can be expected, respectively EGR valve, which are mainly formed by the deposition of impurities from the fuel. Its repair is simple, but not very cheap. In gasoline systems, the fuel injection and fuel injection systems can be easily damaged, and even more expensive if the engines equipped with the turbocharger show a need for replacement.
