The Toyota Land Cruiser is one of the most prized, if not the most prized, all-terrain vehicles. I can only oppose it Mitsubishi Pajero and Mercedes-G-Class Benz (not GL), maybe Nissan Patrol. The cult off-roader, introduced in the first generation in 1951, is produced in short and long versions. The Land Cruiser is a classic heavy-duty SUV, which should be taken literally. With a mass of two tons, it looks as robust as a tank, according to which many SUVs act like big toys. In the age of high technology, when the mass is not wasted, that is a fact worthy of respect. With slight modifications, the Land Cruiser could easily be turned into a special purpose vehicle, and the high-status status luxury completes the image of a raised vehicle with 4 × 4 drive, which arouses awe in traffic.
Each circuit shows the celebrated Toyota quality. The problem can only be if it is maintained by unoriginal parts.
The first cubed and raw Toyota The Land Cruiser was manufactured in 1951. More than two million were made and gained fame in the harsh African abyss. The second generation was introduced in 1989, and in the spring of 2003, the third generation was introduced, which was slightly redesigned in 2008. Then the rugged 4-cylinder 2982 cc turbo diesel is boosted from 166 to 190 hp.
Although this is a classic SUV, it is recommended that he did not cover most of the kilometers on the field, and it is best if the previous owner drove it mostly on asphalt. So that off-road driving properties were ‘for makeup’. Regardless of the fact that he has strong trump cards for off-road driving, he is safe - safe. Therefore, it should first be inspected on a crane or canal, to determine how many kilometers it has traveled on poor terrain. Is the floor scratched? Are there gaps in the ball joints? Are the tires worn incorrectly? The condition of the exhaust system and brake discs can then be determined.
In the third generation, the Land Cruiser retained its celebrated quality, with which its predecessors gained the fame of the indestructible. All this is the best indicator of what we know well about Toyota's quality and reliability. This is undoubtedly not only one of the highest quality SUVs on the market, but also one of the best cars in general. The list of possible failures is short - only problems with overheating of the diesel engine and the consequences of damage to the head gasket are mentioned, which was solved in the first year. Injector problems were the result of poor fuel, and wear on the front discs can only be expected on models that are often driven sharply. The transmission is very durable, so if problems with the clutch are noticed, it is a consequence of frequent driving in difficult conditions. The Land Cruiser is an excellent towing vehicle, but if the hook is installed, it is not a good purchase recommendation.
