Toyota Aygo runs a three-cylinder petrol engine, otherwise from Daihatsu's shelves, so it can actually be considered a real Toyota home product. It sounds quite snorty but is actually very lively and goes well with a five-speed manual transmission. However, this does not apply to versions with MMT automatic transmission, so a manual transmission is always recommended rad

Owners of five- and more-year-old specimens used to complain of problems with rubber door seals, and those of slightly older age (from 2007 and older) reported poorer varnish quality and the appearance of rust bubbles, mostly on doors and joints. Sporadic problems with the starter were solved by recalling in 2011, and with the failing gas pedal in 2010.

The suspension, steering system and shock absorbers are generally in good condition, but it's not bad to take a look when shopping there, considering that the first signs of rust used to be there before the age of five. The weak point, conditionally speaking, can be the brake discs, which sometimes need to be changed more often than average, as well as the linings, which can also be the target of the first signs of rust.

But, all in all, with a durable engine and the entire drivetrain and exhaust system (possible oil leaks are a real rarity), the Aygo as a used car generally deserves above average.
