Toyota Avensis - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - Poor ignition of a cold engine.
CAUSE - Defective heaters.
REPAIR - Install new heaters. Test components, electronics and mechanics (as needed) to eliminate other possible causes. If no error is found: Program again engine computer (ECM) upgraded software.

Toyota Avensis - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - The ESP control indicator illuminates. It is impossible to program the steering angle sensor.
CAUSE - Incorrect steering angle sensor calibration.
REPAIR - Ensure that the steering wheel is in the straight forward position. Make sure the steering angle sensor is aligned with the steering column. Calibrate the steering angle sensor.

Toyota Avensis - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates. The engine runs in forced mode.
CAUSE - Software error engine computer (ECM). Pressure sensor vacuum tube blocked Particulate Filter (DPF). Soot filter (DPF) blocked.
REPAIR - Check that all DPF vacuum pressure sensor hoses are properly installed and leaking. Check operation and condition DPF. Re-program the ECM with the upgraded software.

Toyota Avensis - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates. Engine Computer (ECM) in forced mode.
CAUSE - Engine computer software (ECM) error.
REPAIR - Install upgraded software engine computer (ECM).

PROBLEM - The engine is idling at rest and shuts down.
CAUSE - Software error engine computer (ECM).
REPAIR - Install upgraded software engine computer (ECM).

Toyota Avensi - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - Unable to insert CD into CD player.
CAUSE - CD player initialization required.
REPAIR - Carry out the initialization of the CD player as follows: Remove fuse F2 (15A) from the fuse box / relay board 1 in the engine compartment. Wait 5 minutes. Replace the fuse.

Toyota Avensis - MODELS WITH MANUAL GEARBOX 
PROBLEM - Whining when the clutch pedal is depressed or released. Difficult shifting and poor clutch pedal performance.
CAUSE - Clutch master cylinder defective.

PROBLEM - Unusual noise from the auxiliary drive belt.
CAUSE - Faulty auxiliary drive belt tensioner.
REPAIR - Replace the auxiliary drive belt tensioner and install a new belt if necessary.

Toyota Avensis - MODELS WITH CODE 1AZ-FE1AZ-FSE, 2AZ-FSE 
PROBLEM - Coolant loss. Engine overheating. Coolant leaks at cylinder head gasket.
CAUSE - Insufficient depth of hole in the engine block for the cylinder head bolt.
REPAIR - Install a new piston assembly engine block.

Toyota Avensis - MODELS WITH CODE 1CD-FTV 
PROBLEM - Strong odor inside the vehicle due to strong clutch slippage.
CAUSE - Improper clutch assembly version causes premature wear.

PROBLEM - Loss of power. Whistling from the engine compartment.
CAUSE - Damaged compressed air cooler bottom pipe, behind turbocharger (TC)
REPAIR - Install the modified compressed air cooler lower pipe.

Toyota Avensis - MODELS WITH ENGINE CODES 1CD-FTV / 2AD-FHV 
PROBLEM - The front left low beam flashes after the auxiliary heater is turned on.
CAUSE - Signal interference to electrical installations as part of electrical installations in the engine compartment, when under heavy electrical load (additional heater).
REPAIR - Test electronics and mechanics components (as needed) to eliminate other possible causes. If no fault is found: Install a modified electrical installation assembly in the engine compartment.

Toyota Avensis - MODELS WITH CODE 1CD-FTV 
PROBLEM - Bad cold start.
CAUSE - Defective heaters.
REPAIR - Check heaters, replace if necessary. Reprogram the ECM with the modified software.

Toyota Avensis - DIESEL MODEL 2.0 D-4D 
PROBLEM - The engine starts poorly or cannot start.
CAUSE - Faulty fuel water pressure (FRP) sensor faulty.
REPAIR - Install a modified fuel line pressure sensor to the fuel line (FRP).

Toyota Avensis - DIESEL MODELS 2.0 D-4D 
PROBLEM - Occasional loss of power during acceleration. Engine jerk.
CAUSE - The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve is not working properly.
REPAIR - Check air filter and replace if necessary. Check the air mass flow (MAF) sensor, replace if necessary. Clean the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve and associated parts. Reprogram the ECM with the modified software.

Toyota Avensis 2.0 D 4D 
PROBLEM - Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates. The smell of diesel in the cabin.
CAUSE - Leak in high fuel pressure pump.
REPAIR - Check the date of manufacture at the high pressure fuel pump. If before 02/2010 (01M 02700), replace the high fuel pressure pump with a modified version.

Toyota Avensis 2.0 D-4D 
PROBLEM - Engine overheating. Refrigerant loss.
CAUSE - Faulty cylinder head gasket.
REPAIR - Check that the surface of the cylinder head is distorted. Maximum tolerance: 0,05 mm. Install the modified cylinder head gasket.

Toyota Avensis - MODELS SA SOIL FILTER (DPF) 
PROBLEM - Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates.
CAUSE - Software error engine computer (ECM). Blocked fuel additive injector.
REPAIR - Replace the fuel additive injector. Reprogram the ECM with the modified software.

Toyota Avensi - MODELS WITH CODE: 1AD-FTV, 2AD-FHV 
PROBLEM - Sudden loss of power when accelerating. Whistling from the engine.
CAUSE - The safety clamps do not hold the turbocharger intercooler (TC) pipes sufficiently.
REPAIR - Replace the turbocharger (TC) intercooler tubes and clamps.

    I own an Avensis 2007 2.0d4d and it happens that I lose antifreeze, when at maximum it drops to a minimum in a few days and no longer moves from there. The temperature is ok, it's going fine.
    I don't understand what the trick is, the three masters and each one told me differently

    I own the Avensis 2005. 2.0d4d and it happens that now that winter is these minuses, I hardly load in gears and it's very low clutch. I would ask for your comment.
