The tire never forgets

Guma

An under inflated tire and a high curb are an extremely poor combination for tires. And revenge usually comes later.

No kidding, experts talk out loud about tire memory. Of course, they are not talking about good memories, but about memories related to bad treatment of tires. And those memories are not stored in the brain, but the tire stores them in the armature and on the tread.

For example, when driving with inadequate tire pressure

we create a problem for ourselves. Insufficient air pressure is not able to maintain the edge or sides of the tire. The edges of the tire are then too flexible and the more the tires twist the higher the temperature (like a jar rubber that heats up when you stretch it too much) which can lead to damage to the edge of the tire that is invisible to the driver’s eye.

One of the most common mistakes drivers make is parking too fast and abruptly over high curbs. This is exactly what tears the armature inside the tire. The second most common mistake is improper disposal of winter and summer tires. Rubber is extremely sensitive to mineral oils and other chemicals. Anyone who leaves tires on the greasy floor in the garage will have problems because the sides of the tires will be destroyed. Namely, the problem is that the tire is damaged but still works… at least for a while. The driver is not aware that he is driving on a time bomb. It is because of these things that regular tire checks are important.

Once every 10-15 days, adjust the pressure in the tires, and regularly inspect the tire yourself for visible damage. Also, occasional inspections at the vulcanizer are mandatory because there the professionals will best determine whether everything is OK with the tire or there is some hidden, dangerous damage.

Only new tires provide enough safety, but we can often only dream about it. However, don't forget that the contact surface of the tire with asphalt is the size of a credit card, and it plays an incredibly important role in security. Full throttle on the highway, fast curves… in these situations only a few centimeters keep you on the road. So please - pay more attention to your tires

Identify tire damage

1. A hole in the flank gume

The tire never forgets

The edges are weakened and the interior structure is likely to be damaged. This is where the tire is threatened - better replace this tire as soon as possible

2. The foreign body in the tread

The tire never forgets

This is where the glass rammed into the tire tread. This is often successfully repaired with vulcanizers

3. Improper wear gume

The tire never forgets

Something causes the tire to wear out more in one piece. First check the cause of this and remedy the defect, then change the tire. If you do not know the cause, it is pointless to change the tire as it will happen again

4. Blowing

The tire never forgets

While looking for a tire pump, you can pour soapy water into the valve or where you think it is letting the air flow. If balloons are made, there is air.
