Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODELS WITH REAR DISCS 240 MM 
PROBLEM - Squeaking from the rear brakes during light braking.
CAUSE - Poor version of the rear brake lining brakes and brake calipers.
REPAIR - Install the modified rear brake pads and brackets.

Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODELS WITH REAR DISCS 270 MM 
PROBLEM - Squeaking from the rear brakes during light braking.
CAUSE - Poor rear brake lining version.
REPAIR - Install the modified rear brake linings.

Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODELS WITH VALVE CONTROL UNIT 
PROBLEM - Engine downtime. Loss of engine power.
CAUSE - The butterfly valve does not open / close properly due to accumulated deposits in the valve body.
REPAIR - Remove the valve body and clean the deposits on the inside.

Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODELS WITH K4J / K4M / K7J / K7M / K9K ENGINES 
PROBLEM - The alternator control indicator illuminates. Noise from the engine. Loud noise from the auxiliary drive belt.
CAUSE - Faulty alternator pulley.
REPAIR - Check the alternator pulley for damage. Replace if necessary. Check the alternator for damage. Replace if necessary.

Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODELS WITH AIR CONDITIONING (A / C) 
PROBLEM - Unusual noise in the passenger compartment during operation of the air conditioner (AC).
CAUSE - Vibration on the high pressure pipe of the air conditioner (A / C).
REPAIR - Install a modified air conditioning high pressure hose.

Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODELS WITH NO KEY ENTRANCE 
PROBLEM - It is not possible to unlock / lock the vehicle using the keyless entry system.
CAUSE - Water enters the door inside the keyless entry system unlock connector.
REPAIR - Replace the keyless entry system unlock / lock sensor.

Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODELS WITH K4 ENGINES, FROM 12/02 
PROBLEM - Poor engine performance. Poor driving characteristics.
CAUSE - Defective coil.
REPAIR - Perform a diagnostic test on the coils to confirm the error.
Install a modified bobbin.

Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODELS WITH DIESELS 1.5 /1.9 dCi (K9K / F9Q) 
PROBLEM - It is not possible to start after replacing the timing belt.
Valve phase adjustment incorrect after gear belt replacement.
CAUSE - Incorrect valve phase adjustment due to camshaft pulley error.
REPAIR - Remove the camshaft pulley and check for damage.
Replace parts if necessary.

Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODELS WITH K4M / F4R 830 ENGINES 
PROBLEM - Tapping from the top of the engine after a cold start.
CAUSE - Intake Camshaft Position (CMP) Actuator Internal Fault.
REPAIR - Replace the intake valve camshaft position (CMP) actuator.
Reprogram the engine computer with the modified software.

Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODELS WITH F9Q ENGINE 
PROBLEM - Loss of engine power. Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates. Too much smoke in the exhaust. Improper engine sound. The engine stops and will not restart.
CAUSE - Internal turbocharger (TC) fault.
REPAIR - Inspect the turbocharger (TC) for damage, replace if necessary. Check the intake system for damage. Replace the component if necessary. Inspect the engine for internal damage. Replace / repair parts as needed.

Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODELS WITH F9Q ENGINE CODE 
PROBLEM - Clicking or tapping when starting or changing gear to reverse gear.
CAUSE - Stiffening of the rubber engine mount. Right engine mount misalignment. There is no washer on the engine mount.
REPAIR - Loosen the right engine mount retaining bolts and nut. Check the grooves on the engine mount. Replace the engine mount if there are no grooves. Check the washer on the engine mount. Install the washer if it is not there. Remove and discard the plastic cover from the right engine mount (if equipped). Lubricate the engine mount grooves. Move the engine backward or forward to align the engine mount. Tighten the engine mount bolts to 62 Nm. Tighten the engine mount nut to 37 Nm.

Renault Megan 2nd gen. - ALL MODEL WITH ENGINE CODES M9R 700 / M9R 740 / M9R 760 / M9R 780, FROM 2008. 
PROBLEM - Bad cold start.
CAUSE - Defective heaters installed.
REPAIR - Software upgrade required - contact manufacturer. Test components, electronics and mechanics (as needed) to eliminate other possible causes. Replace heaters if necessary. If no error is found: reprogram the engine computer with modified software to improve cold engine start.

Reno Megan 2.gen. - ALL MODELS WITH ENGINE CODES M9R 700 / M9R 721 / M9R 722 / M9R 724 / M9R 740 
PROBLEM - Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates.
CAUSE - Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve blocked in open / closed position. Engine Computer Software (ECM) Error.
REPAIR - Perform component, electronics, and mechanical tests (as needed) to eliminate other possible causes. Replace the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. If no error is found: Reprogram the engine computer (ECM) with the upgraded software.

Reno Megan 2.gen. - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - The steering wheel is not working properly in corners or when parking. Vibration on the power steering column in curves or when parking. Crunching from the front suspension.
CAUSE - Excessive friction on the upper rear shock mount bearing.
REPAIR - Check the operation of the rear shock absorber upper bracket bearing.
Replace the upper rear suspension strut bearing.

Reno Megan 2.gen. - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - Rattle or slam from the steering column.
CAUSE - Incorrect tightening torque of the lower steering column bolt on the steering rack.
REPAIR - Tighten the bolt to the correct tightening torque.

Renault Megan 2.gen. - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - Periodic startup error. The engine shuts down occasionally.
CAUSE - Faulty crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.
REPAIR - Replace the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.

Reno Megan 2.gen. - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - The engine does not start.
CAUSE - Damaged electrical wiring on the clutch pedal position (CPP) switch.
REPAIR - Repair any damage to the electrical installation.

Reno Megan 2.gen. - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - Frequent headlight bulbs burn out.
CAUSE - The bulb holders vibrate causing the filaments to crack.
REPAIR - Install the modified bulb holders.

Reno Megan 2.gen. - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - Water enters the front door pockets through the speaker.
CAUSE - Faulty seal between door panels.
REPAIR - Remove the door panel. Seal the joint between the top and bottom of the door panel.

Reno Megan 2.gen. - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - The pedal is blocked or does not return.
CAUSE - Air in the clutch hydraulic system.
REPAIR - Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. If there is no improvement: Replace the clutch master cylinder.
