Kia Carnival

Kia Carnival 2st Gen

The second generation of the Kia Carnival or Kia Sedona (coming to the UK) mono-volume, which comes on the market in 2006, is completely different in technology and design.
Kia Carnival

The new Kia Carnival is based on the Hyundai Entourage that was only offered in North America. It is available in two versions shorter (short wheel base) and longer (long wheel base). Although shorter than its predecessor, new Kia The Carnival SWB, with a length of 481 centimeters and a wheelbase of 289 centimeters, is a truly bulky monovolumen. The full-size seven-seater configuration in the 2 + 3 + 2 layout offers incredible spaciousness. The seats are movable, rotatable and easy to remove. The luggage compartment volume of all seven seats is 740 liters, and with the seats lowered 3000 liters. The longer version, the LWB, is 513 centimeters long and with a longer wheelbase (3,020 mm) and comes with eleven seats. What remains is the same chassis but poor brake quality.
The competitors of this monovolumen are Honda Odyssey and Mercedes Viano.

Safety equipment has greatly improved from its predecessor and includes ABS, front and side airbags, an air curtain that goes all the way to the rear seats, and stability control as standard. In the Euro NCAP crash test, the second generation of the Carnival monovolumen was rated four.

Kia Carnival

The engine offers a 2.7 V6 petrol engine with 189 hp and a four-cylinder 2.9 CDRi diesel engine with 185 hp. The consumption of diesel engines is around 10 liters per 100 kilometers, and the consumption of gasoline engines is about 12 liters at the same distance.
ADAC noted that the second-generation Kie Carnival is more reliable than the first. Early models by 2008 faced problems with electric sliding doors and difficult closure.
