What are the most common problems and failures of the Ford Kuga and how to solve them?

Ford Plague - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - The engine does not start. Fault in one or more electrical systems.
CAUSE - Moisture in the fuse box / relay board connections due to condensation from the evaporator tube of the air conditioner.
REPAIR - Check components, electronics and mechanics to eliminate other possible causes. If no error is found: reprogram the control module with the upgraded software. Check for water damage at the fuse box / relay board connector and repair / replace as needed. Install the sponge on the air conditioning evaporator tube above the fuse box / relay board.

Ford Kuga - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - Frequent headlight bulbs burn out.
CAUSE - Headlight bulb supply voltage too high.
REPAIR - Install the resistor set between the bulbs and the headlamp wiring harness connector.

Ford Kuga - MODELS WITH 5TH GEAR 
PROBLEM - Leakage of oil from the power transmission mechanism to the wheels.
CAUSE - Improperly installed right drive shaft damages the seal.
REPAIR - Install a new drive shaft seal. The drive shaft should be pushed as far into the transmission as possible. Replace the middle drive shaft bearing nuts and bracket.

Ford Kuga - DIESEL MODELS 2.0 
PROBLEM - Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates. The engine leaks fuel and loses power.
CAUSE - Damaged or incorrectly installed O-rings on the fuel injector return pipe connector.
REPAIR - Inspect for leaks or damage to the fuel injector return pipe connector. If necessary, replace the fuel injector return pipes. Lubricate the O-rings. Install new fuel injector return hooks.

Ford Plague - DIESEL MODELS 2.2 AND PETROL 2.5 WITH MANUAL GEARBOX 
PROBLEM - Unable to change gears.
CAUSE - Transmission lever ball joint dislocated from the selector lever.
REPAIR - Apply Loctite to the gear lever ball screw. Install the selector lever ball joint to the selector lever. Tightening torque: 20 ± 3 Nm. Install the shift selector cable to the selector lever ball joint.
