Ford Galaxy

Ford Galaxy

The second-generation Ford Galaxy was launched in 2006 and, unlike the first generation, was not made in collaboration with Volkswagen. It comes with seven seats in three rows as standard. The chassis and technology of this car comes from the Ford Mondeo. This car is practical, spacious and comes with a large selection of engines including a fuel efficient diesel engine.

The comfortable Ford Galaxy has a very spacious interior, the rear seats can be folded down. The boot has a volume of 570 liters, with the seats folded up to 2000 liters. In 2010, the Galaxy was redesigned to receive a new chrome grille and rear LED lights. New gasoline and diesel engines with dual-clutch automatic transmission are also available.

In the Euro NCAP crash test, the Ford Galaxy won the highest rating. Ford did its best to ensure passenger safety. The standard Ford Galaxy model comes with seven airbags including side airbags that extend all the way to the rear seats. The steering wheel and pedals are designed to inflict as few injuries as possible to the driver in the event of an accident. In 2010, Ford added blind spot indicators.

When choosing an engine, you can choose between petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engines are 2.0 with 145 hp and 2.3 with 161 hp, both are quiet and with good performance. The more powerful gasoline engine is only available with an automatic transmission and is slower than 2.0 and has a fuel consumption of 9.7 liters per 100 kilometers. The diesel engines are 1.8 TDCi with 100 hp or 125 hp - their consumption is about 6,1 liters per 100 kilometers. The 2.0hp diesel 140 engine is available with an automatic transmission, but with a higher fuel consumption of about 7,4 liters per 100 kilometers. The best diesel engine is the 2.2 TDCi with 175 hp.

Even though it is almost five meters long and with a high roof, it is as if you were driving in a sedan, not in a monovolume: good maneuverability, calmness and easy handling make this a mini.

Ford has taken a major step in the processing, reliability and durability of the second-generation Ford Galaxy. In the early years, the electric parking brake was unreliable, and malfunctions occurred on the electrical control system.
