What are the most common failures of Fiat Bravo and how to solve them?

Fiat Bravo - ALL MODELS 
PROBLEM - Hard brake pedal.
CAUSE - Poor workmanship of the brake pedal assembly.
REPAIR - Install the modified brake pedals and brake pedal regulator.

Fiat Bravo - ALL MODELS WITH ESP SYSTEM 
PROBLEM - Improper operation of the uphill function. The vehicle pulls left or right when the brakes are applied.
CAUSE - ABS / ESP control module software error.
REPAIR - Install a new ABS / ESP control module.

Fiat Bravo - ALL MODELS  
PROBLEM - Scratching sound when turning the steering wheel.
CAUSE - Wiring connector incorrectly mounted on steering wheel.
REPAIR - Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery. Wait 10 minutes. Remove the driver side airbag module. Check that the electrical installation connector is correctly attached to the steering wheel. Check for plastic shavings around the electrical connectors. Check the connection of electrical installations, ensure adequate freewheeling. Place the airbag module on the driver's side. Connect the battery.

Fiat Bravo - ALL MODELS WITH AIR CONDITIONING 
PROBLEM - The air conditioner (AC) is not efficient. Defective air conditioning compressor.
CAUSE - Error in air conditioner condenser manufacturing.
REPAIR - Inspect the air conditioner condenser plate for proper installation of the separator plate.
If the separator board is incorrectly installed, replace the air conditioner condenser.

Fiat Bravo - ALL MODELS WITH GASOLINE ENGINES 
PROBLEM - Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates.
CAUSE - Knock sensor (KS) error.
REPAIR - Check electrical wiring connector and detonation sensor (HP). Replace parts if necessary.

Fiat Bravo - ALL MODELS WITH 1.4 16V ENGINE AND MANUAL GEARBOX 
PROBLEM - Difficult to shift into 5th gear.
CAUSE - The speed selector cables are set incorrectly.
REPAIR - Check and adjust the speed selector cables.

Fiat Bravo - ALL MODELS SA SOIL PARTICLE FILTER (DPF) Since 2006. 
PROBLEM - The engine oil pressure warning light flashes.
CAUSE - The engine operation control system will turn on the engine oil pressure warning light when it is necessary to replace the oil and filter, which have become contaminated by regeneration of DPF.
REPAIR - The maximum distance traveled between oil changes depends on many conditions including: Distance traveled since the last oil and filter change, number of regenerations DPF, average engine oil temperature, number of engine starts, number of cold starts. The engine oil pressure indicator light can only be reset using appropriate diagnostic equipment.

Fiat Bravo - ALL MODELS WITH DIESEL ENGINES 
PROBLEM - Stored error code: P2264.
CAUSE - Poor electrical connection or no fuel / water separator at all. Faulty fuel / water separator sensor.
REPAIR - Check if there is power at port 3. Check the electrical installation of the fuel / water separator sensor. Check that the contacts on the fuel / water separator encoder terminal are correct. Replace the fuel / water separator sensor.

Fiat Bravo - ALL DIESEL MODELS 1.9 AND 2.4 
PROBLEM - Engine jerk. Hesitation when accelerating to 1800 -2000 rpm.
CAUSE - The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve is not working properly.
REPAIR - Check thermostat operation. Check that the oil level is correct. Check that the fuel is contaminated. Check the fuel filter. Check the intake system for leaks. Check the air mass flow sensor (MAF). Check the suction system for oil. Check for fuel injector leaks. Check that the fuel injector type is correct. Check that the EGR system is working properly. Strip off EGR valve and place the limiter board.

Fiat Bravo - ALL DIESEL MODELS 1.9 
PROBLEM - Metallic sound from the auxiliary drive belt approximately 2 minutes after a cold start.
CAUSE - Auxiliary drive belt tensioner.
REPAIR - Replace the auxiliary drive belt tensioner.
