Brake by wire - a common name for advanced electro-hydraulic brakes

Brake by wire - means 'electro-hydraulic brakes', in which the mechanical connection between the pedal and the brake cylinders, as in airplanes, is replaced by an electric one. The braking force is regulated for each wheel separately according to load, speed and traction. A large part of the mechanical components are being replaced electronically, so the current systems for increasing the braking intensity (servo), anti-lock braking (ABS) and brake force distribution (EBD) are solved much simpler and better. This system, called Sensatronic Brake Control, was first used by Mercedes-Benz in 2001, but has so far delayed mass use in production cars, although they are already used regularly in Formula 1. It is similar to the 'fly by wire' technology used by control aircraft, where price is not an issue, so with smaller series and filigree maintenance, it is possible to ensure the necessary reliability.
