BMW 3 Series E36

BMW series 3 from the 1990-2000 model, there was a completely new development of the engine and the length of the vehicle. However, there is still little space in the back seat. As with its predecessor, we can choose between 4 styles: sedan, coupe, convertible and station wagon. New in this series is the model with a classic trunk and hatchback door. The chassis is made in a sporty version. As for comfort, it is still lacking.

This BMW 3 Series E36 is available with four or six cylinder engines. Four-cylinder petrol engines start with the 316hp version of the 100i, and in 1995 came the most powerful six-cylinder 328i with 193hp.

The most powerful and sporty M3 develops 321 hp. The four-cylinder engine develops so much power thanks to a turbocharger that boosts total power by as much as 90 hp.

The most important change is the new generation of four-cylinder gasoline engines from the end of 1993. It did not require a timing belt, which was responsible for numerous failures in previous models. BMW has reduced belt replacement time to just 40000 km and should be strictly adhered to.

For diesel engines, and especially for the sixth cylinder, at just under 100000 km, damage to the turbocharger and cylinder head occurs. All engines tended to lose oil, and there were rust problems especially in pre-1992 models.

BMW therefore increased attention so fewer problems were expected. The initial models of the BMW 3 Series also had some electronic problems; there was a failure of the alternator, immobilizer and loose cable connections led to various errors.

Generally BMW 3 were well made and the materials used in the interior increased its durability.

Diesel engines consume about 7 L per 100km, while gasoline engines consume up to 9 L the same distance. The powerful six-cylinder engine consumes up to 13 L per 100 km, however, because of its durability and impressive power transfer, conducive to functionality, they are also recommended.
