Armored vehicles? At first glance, it seems very dangerous… Depending on the level of protection and the model, prices range from a few tens to a few hundred thousand euros. In addition to businessmen, criminals and politicians, armored cars are also used by financial institutions to transport valuables and money.

What does "armored" really mean?

The basic is that the car looks like a standard model ie. to have invisible protection. The body is protected by special steel plates or kevlar and other composite materials, which are much lighter and have almost the same protection as steel. The door has an overlap system that eliminates the gap between the door and the body (pronounced overlap), protects the floor, and especially the tank, which is resistant to high temperatures and has a self-sealing layer that prevents fuel leakage in the event of a hit. Suspension systems and braking is strengthened compared to standard models. The weight of the Land Cruiser is almost twice as much (4.320 kg) as standard. Engine power is also higher due to the achievement of the appropriate speed. There are special wheels with steel inserts that can be ridden in case of tire destruction. Multilayer laminar glasses are used, in combination with polycarbonate, capable of withstanding multiple bullets fired from a short distance. There is also an option where the front windows can only be partially opened - 20%, as well as the possibility of hermetically closing the car cabin with the use of an air filtration system in the event of a chemical attack.

Who here loves armored cars? More and more VIP personalities or at least those who think they are, politicians, those in high positions in the Government, the rich, criminals… But, of course, along with the armored car, there must be security in people. They are guided by the motto: an armored car keeps its head. There is a lot of truth in that, but it also costs you. The German company Alfa Pancerung offers Mercedes G class and Toyota Land Crusier, whose prices range from 155000 to 340000 euros without customs duties and VAT. The more protection the more money.

Ballistic protection standards have been established in Australia, England, Russia, China, Germany, America, and the most commonly used are Euro norms according to which there are seven levels of protection. Those who want to prevent vehicle hijacking or robbery, opt for lower levels, and when it comes to life - they are looking for a level that guarantees protection from military ammunition and various types of explosives.
